Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do I get started?
The best way to reach out is to call us or select “Request Appointment” on our website and complete the form. In your voicemail or on the form, if you request a phone call, I will call you, and we can discuss availability and potential questions. Please note that intake paperwork must be completed before the first appointment occurs, which will be sent to you in a secure way.

What if I am out of network?
If you’re out of network, you can pay out of pocket or if you have out of network coverage, I am happy to provide a super bill to you upon request. Then, you can submit the super bill to your insurance. You can also request a sliding scale rate. However, approval of sliding scale rates are considered on a case by case basis and not guaranteed.

How do I know if Therapy is right for me?
The decision to start therapy is a very personal one. At the same time, an indicator that therapy may be useful is if you’re noticing symptoms that make it difficult to function in important areas of your life like; at work, school, or in your meaningful relationships.
-
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential, and it is a part of our ethical duty as therapists to uphold client confidentiality. At the same time, there are a few exceptions where client information may be shared. Exceptions to confidentiality are typically related to situations involving imminent risk of serious harm, death or suspected abuse. The therapist will discuss confidentiality with you in detail to ensure you understand it and all of the exceptions before you begin therapy.

Where are you located?
We are located in Darien, IL (60561), which is in the west Chicago suburbs near Downers Grove, Willowbrook, Burr Ridge, Westmont, and Woodridge. At this time, we only provide virtual therapy services. This allows us to work with individuals and couples who live in any part of Illinois as permanent residents.

What is your cancelation policy?
We require clients to give a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel an existing appointment with no fee. If a client cancels an appointment with less than 24 hours notice or does not attend the scheduled meeting, the practice charges the client an $80 fee. There are rare, few exceptions to this that can be discussed with the therapist.
